     Hannah Black was born on 1 January 1812, probably in Stark County, Ohio.2,1,3 She was the daughter of Philip Black Jr. and Catharine Baughman.1 She married Moses Ayres Cordrey, son of Nathan Cordrey and Dorcas Jane Ayres, on 15 May 1831.1,3 She died on 6 April 1875 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, at age 63.1,2,3 She was buried in Bisel Church Cemetery, Fairfield township,: Hannah, Wife of M.A. Cordrey died April 6, 1875 Aged 63 yr. 3 mos. and 6 days.2,3
     
     In his journal, Francis Cordrey wrote a long article about his mother.
