Frances Tanner was born on 11 January 1795 in Saint Peters Parish, Beaufort District, South Carolina.2 She was the daughter of Robert Tanner and Providence Robert.2 She married William Pearce Jr., son of William Pearce and Sarah Bray, in 1812 in Woodville, Wilkinson County, Mississippi Territory.1 She died on 13 April 1821 in Cheneyville, Rapides Parish, Louisiana, at age 26.2
