Family Background:
Horn and Allied Families
Celia Ann Alice Horn was born on 10 June 1838 in Alabama.1 She was the daughter of Elisha Thomas Horn and Marilda Richardson.1 She married Thomas Jackson Owens, son of Daniel Owens, in 1853 in Neshoba County, Mississippi.1 She married Joseph Driver in September 1869 in Freestone County, Texas.2 She died in 1898 in Texas.1 She was buried in Old Rehoboth Cemetery, Freestone County, Texas.1

When Thomas Owens was killed in the War Between the States, Celia was left with five small children to raise. In 1868 her brother Bill, who was living in Freestone County, Texas, traveled by horseback to Mississippi to move her and the children to Texas. The following year she married Joseph Driver, but apparently the marriage didn't last long. They were not enumerated together in the 1870 census, and "Cealy Driver" was divorced according to the 1880 census. She and Joseph had no children, but in the 1870 census, her five Owens children are found with her under the Driver surname.
