Patience married Captain Stephen Cobb, son of Robert Cobb and Mary Deberry.1 She died in Wayne County, North Carolina, before 18 November 1807 when Stephen Cobb gave bond as her administrator.2

Although her maiden name is often given as Bridgers, it is only an assumption based on her having a grandson named John Bridgers Cobb. She was mentioned in the settlement of her husband Captain Stephen Cobb's estate 22 November 1785 in Wayne County, North Carolina.3 An inventory of her estate was taken 10 December 1807 in Wayne County.4
