     Sergeant Samuel Morgan was born circa 1637.1 He was the son of Robert Morgan and Margaret Norman.2 He was baptized 23: 4: 1650 (23 June 1650) in First Church, Salem.1,3 He married first Elizabeth Dixey, daughter of Captain William Dixey and Ann or Hannah (—?—) (Dixey), on 15 December 1658 at Salem.1,2 He married second Mary (—?—) before 24 July 1694 when she was dismissed to Beverly by the Gloucester church.1 He died in 1698.1

Sergeant Samuel Morgan was selectman of Marblehead, 1667; juryman 1678. He removed to Beverly in 1691 when Capt. Dixey deeded him thirty acres at Mackerel Cove. He sold his old and new houses at Marblehead to Ambrose Gale. He was a tythingman in Beverly, 1688; Sergeant; constable, 1689.1

He was called "my son Sam[ue]ll Morgan" in his father-in-law Captain William Dixey's will dated 21 February 1684/85.4

His will, proved 16 November 1698, mentions his wife Mary, his eldest son Samuel, second son Luke, third son Robert, fourth son William, fifth son Joseph, his daughters Elizabeth and Anne, his brother Joseph Morgan and his nephew Joseph Morgan (son of Joseph).5
