Bill Horn, Sr.
     William Lemuel Horn was born on 17 December 1829 in Greene County, Alabama.2 He was the son of Elisha Thomas Horn and Marilda Richardson.1 He and Minerva Ann Malone were married by Benjamin F. Lynn, Justice of the Peace on 6 April 1854 in Freestone County, Texas.3 He married second Naomi Simmons, daughter of W.J. Simmons and Susannah Hahn, on 4 October 1865 in Fairfield, Freestone County, Texas, Naomi's father was the minister.4,2,5 He died on 11 February 1908 in Mountain View, Kiowa County, Oklahoma, at age 78.2 He was buried in Old Oakdale Cemetery, north of Mountain View, Washita County.2 Click to view image

William Lemuel Horn enlisted for the duration of the war on 20 March 1862 at Fairfield, Freestone County, Texas, and mustered into Company B, Twelfth Cavalry (Parson's Mounted Volunteers, Fourth Dragoons).7
